Melbourne’s COVID-19 lockdown is finally over! Unfortunately, I’ve kind of being blowing it creatively which has left me needing to find some outlet to kick start things again. Haven’t been into the street with my camera yet, but I’ve been obsessed with this little industrial and residential area. I figured, this is as good a place as any to start off with a little set to get the juices flowing. It’s pretty low hanging fruit creatively, nothing is moving and I’m heading there in a particularly quiet part of the week with the bare minimum of foot traffic. This little spot is interesting to me because the twin elements of residential and industrial seem to merge and blur together as the streets go by. It’s kind of wild to see factories right next to these houses both old and new. I have headed out every weekend for the last few weeks with my Leica M9 and my daughter in toe as we hit playgrounds and search for interesting compositions. So far only playgrounds have been located, I’ll make a decent photo once day (not likely). I’m keen to hit the streets and make some more POV videos soon, but it still feels kinda weird to be outside with people. Not sure where this particular series of photos is going, or if it’s any good. It might just simply be a little photo set to enjoy, probably won’t be a zine or anything like that. It’s just been nice to be outside!
