It’s 2018 and it’s time to have a poorly written About page on the site. JC Street started as a place to dump photos after losing faith in most other online platforms and begrudgingly joining Instagram. Since then, I’ve started to review the cameras I buy, make POV videos while I shoot and have started to reach out to new online friends to post some of their thoughts.
What am I doing?
I don’t really have any idea. Pretty much just more of the same, but trying to devleop more skill and control when shooting. I’d like to think I’m learning to be better at making photos on the street, but the jury is still out on that one. Hopefully one day I’ll make some frames that move people, buy for now it’s mostly mediocre and a learning process each time I head out. Thanks for joining me on the ride.
Am I a Street Photographer?
A bad one, at best. I’m not any kind of photographer really, more of an observer trying to make something of nothing with almost no skill. But really, anyone can be a street photographer, all you need is a camera and enough time to waste taking photos of strangers.
Hopefully, through this blog, the unnecessary swearing, POV videos, zines, guest posts and afternoons wasted wandering the same streets I can make something of interest to you or anyone else who reads this.
Where is all headed?
Your guess is as good as mine. There’s definitely more to come in 2018!
I’m just enjoying creating things, learning something new and meeting people through our shared interest in making photographs.
